We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our organization as a Squash Coach Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with both Jewish and Arab children in underserved communities in Haifa, Israel. As a Squash Coach Intern, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality squash coaching sessions, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for young athletes. This internship is an exceptional chance to contribute to community development and promote social cohesion through sports.

Responsibilities:

• Squash Coaching: Plan and deliver engaging squash coaching sessions to cater to diverse skill levels and learning styles, ensuring an inclusive and positive experience for all participants and foster their love for the sport.
• Individualized Support: Serve as a mentor and a role model, providing inspiration and individualized attention and support to participants, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
• Community Engagement: Collaborate with the local community and schools to promote squash programs and increase participation among underserved populations and actively contribute to community events and initiatives, leveraging squash as a tool for social cohesion and positive change.
• Administrative Tasks: Assist in managing program logistics, including scheduling, equipment organization, and participant registration.
• Professional Development: Seek opportunities for professional growth and actively participate in training sessions, workshops, and seminars organized by the organization to enhance coaching skills and cultural competency.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong passion for squash and a genuine interest in using sports as a means of community development and social cohesion.
• Experienced squash coach and training methodologies preferably with children and youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and communicate effectively with participants from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Enthusiasm for working with underserved communities and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality through sports.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt coaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of participants.
• Basic administrative skills, including record-keeping and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written); knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic is a plus.
