This is such an incredible week for all of us, the Maccabiah games are such a unique experience and such a huge production with a very simple and clear message.

Yes we are basically coming from different places but we are here to share and to celebrate what we have in common. And what is a better way to celebrate this deep connection through Sports and a lot of good time.

4 years ago when I first met Rgdea and Fatin from Tira, which is an Arab city just 7km from here, our conversation could easily go towards "the differences between us" - who is right and who is wrong, but NO – we shared the same optimism and belief that if we just help the younger generation understand that people are people and even when they have differences between them they still can have many things in common and they should focus on that.

If we won't create a system to get them together at a young age they will grow into a world of separation, stereotypes and fear.

We created a challenging space for them to meet twice a week and to work both as individuals and as a group.

Creating a group of individual athletes is so powerful.
Each one is doing their best to be the best they can but still pulling the rest of the team together with him.
I remember this as a young player and I can also see that happen every day.
They practice together in Squash but also share class work as a group, language, dynamic sessions and other enrichment activities.

SquashBond's mission is to create a younger generation raised on the basis of sportsmanship a generation who will spread out the message of shared society, that will allow themselves to aim high and to push themselves to the limits because they are confident and they know they have friends who share the same journey even if they come from a different background or religion.

It gives us as an organization so much power when we feel the amount of support we receive from people like Tracey Specter, Brian Roberts and Russell Stock or from big organizations like National Urban Squash in America, the PSA and PSAF and the WSF but mostly I feel so proud to know that SquashBond has the honor to be the organization which get youngsters involved in something which is so important and moral. I receive on a weekly basis emails from around the globe of people who wants to be part and help.

We are not a political organization – we are a people to people organization because we believe in people.

I wish to thank you Alexis Shatzman for such an incredible project which you took on yourself you did so well and you should be proud. I want to thank you Tracey Specter for being such a great partner; we couldn't ask for more and I'm so happy you are on board with us.

Thank you all
